| In 1978 Les Budd began his musical journey with 5 other members, where Spotty Mulldoon, a Comedy show group, was formed. They were based in Manchester and entertained a variety of audiences in clubs, pubs and corporate events traveling around the UK until 1986 when Les decided to embark on a solo career.
Singing locally around Manchester and traveling back to his home town of Portsmouth gave him the decision to relocate back here permanently. In 2004, Les decide to follow his love of Soul and Motown, a passion held for many years.
He produced a remit of songs around this subject and began “treading the boards” to build his new profile around the South Coast working under the stage name of Billy Budd, a tribute to artists such as Barry White, Lionel Richie, Nat King Cole to name but a few. |
